The Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Centre artists weave intimate smaller tapestries in cotton. The finer threads and softer colors results in delicate works with the feeling of fine watercolors or drawings.
Most artists work only in wool or cotton. The cotton artists include Nadra Abd Allah, Gyhan Rizk, Halawa Mohamed and Said Shaban.
We recommend that the cotton tapestries be framed for display. Examples of wall mounted cotton tapestries from the 2017 exhibition at the San Diego Botanic Garden.
